    SQL SP4 has major locking issues that Microsoft insists is not a problem. Queries that used to take minutes now take hours. Do not install SP4 until you are sure this issue has been resolved.

    Why should you put up with all the hassles? Let someone else test it for 6 months or so.

    yeah, i've heard of big issues with folks running other vbulletin boards that got "upgraded".

    it's an a mySQL database. that the same thing? when i was reading about the next version of vbulletin, i saw a flurry of tangential threads on the mySQL updgrade problems. something about , "do not upgrade if...blah blah blah..."

    SQL is a generic term like HTTP or HTML. Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL all use it.

    I think when Sly said "SQL SP4" he was referring to Microsoft's SQL Server package.
