Just heard it on the radio...Steve Spurrier anyone? I think Charlie Wise has GOT to be a consideration as well. That would be AWESOME. Stevil tels Florida to bugger off and ends up jobless! Priceless!!! :xyzthumbs

Actually, they will probably have an interim HC til the end of the season.

Yeah, a good former DC with a huge need to shake monkeys off the back. Turning the Carolina D back into a top tier one would make everyone forget the Fins...

Reports: Wannstedt to resign from Dolphins

    NFL.com wire reports

DAVIE, Fla. (Nov. 8, 2004) -- Dave Wannstedt may have coached his last game for the Miami Dolphins.

With his team at 1-8, Wannstedt was expected to resign Nov. 9, according to reports on the The Miami Herald's Web site and two South Florida television stations. A third TV station, WTVJ, said Wannstedt already resigned.

Wannstedt met Nov. 8 at the team's complex with owner Wayne Huizenga, who confirmed an announcement will be made Nov. 9.

"Dave called me and we got together, but I'm not going to comment at this point," Huizenga told The Associated Press.

The Herald, citing anonymous club sources and an NFL source in its report, also said defensive coordinator Jim Bates will be named interim coach at a news conference Nov. 9.

seems to have worked very well for other failed hc's. i'm not bashing trgo by any means, but he's no defensive genius and obviously not a motivator. i think he's a solid coach but he doesn't have 'it.'

This is a cowardly move if he was not secretly forced out. You just dont bail out as HC when your team is sucking.

PFT says he was probably forced out. I think so too. There would be stories that he gave up his guaranteed money if he had quit on his own.
