It's not about who is better than who. It's about results.

We got them this week, so I'm pleased.

I thought Davidson did a good job today, but the draw on 3rd and goal was one of the worst calls ever. If that was Henning, people still be furious over it.

I don't think that liking the Davidson plan means dogging the Henning game. I don't even think it's fair to bring it up, it's not like people were saying how great it is that Dan didn't coach this game or anything.

It's not even as if we're expecting teams to forget the TE. It's just a nice way to spread the ball around, and get a first down with a big body that's not going to have a man technique played against him. Always seemed a solid marriage to me, running game and getting cleanup yards with a TE.

and if it hadn't been a fumble, it wouldn't have been so bad.

I don't like it either, but in that situation, some would say it's smart to just take the points. I wanted to throw it there.

But yeah. It's not about favorites, vendettas, or any of that. It's OK to say positives or negatives about either of them and it not be about your rapist ex-uncle looking like Dan.

In my opinion, if you're asking Foster to get 7 near the goal line, then you're pretty much asking for a fumble. You know he's going to be fighting for yardage in a confined area, and when he fights for yardage, he exposes the ball. I think a pass to the corner or even to the backline w/ Carter would have been safer.

I agree. The draw with Foster is the same give up/be overly safe crap I didn't like with The Henning. But I can see the methodology.

where was Rosario? we had to have run 2 TE stuff at least a little, but I don't remember him being there.

To be fair, it could just be a Fox thing.

I don't think we went double TE at all. I'll have to go back and check later on, but it seemed like our dominant look was twins left. We also did the full house look with 89 motioning out, but that was early.

Rosario was out there on at least one play ... i think with King on the field

no fades routes in the endzone made me happy

    OL gave jake great protection

No doubt. I think Davidson did great and can't figure out how Henning could have been any better, I was just pointing out that it was pretty similar to what we did against them last season and that people have a tendency to see what they want to instead of what's there.

Also, Mangum had 4 and 5 catch games last season. Unless we start using King to attack the creases, our TE usage really hasn't changed much.

true, and we used Hoover a lot. We spread a fair bit, too. So not much room for the 2nd TE.

I don't think King will make the Pro Bowl or anything, but it's nice having a reliable option. If he's just a more utilized Mangum, that's ok with me.

I'm just glad Gaines is gone. I think he's a great guy with a cool personality, and other than not being able to block or catch, he was a very good TE for us.
