His receivers were wide open and he still threw at their feet.

Hell I thought he threw better than Vick. He's also tall. He seems like a better teammate than Vick.

    I don't see how he's a less reasonable #1 than Vick.

Anyway, helluva a good ball game.

I would not draft him that high. Teams are already catching up to Vick and the whole super-mobile QB factor. I doubt he is that good in the pros.

Looks like White had a big game, I would like to have him here.

No, he isn't. He's a better passer than Vick has ever been, but Vick was more refined mechanically at the same point. Now that the glow of last night has faded somewhat, I still say that Young has more bust than boom potential in the NFL. If you go back and watch that great game again, a high number of Young's throws were to receivers who had stopped in a zone, not guys on the move. That's been true of Texas' passing offense all season.

And [IMG] to the White hype. Look at the tape again. White had one great stiffarm on a safety, but how many times did he break the tackle of any defensive linemen or linebackers? Most runs he wasn't even touched until well downfield. White may end up being a good pro because he does hit the hole with authority and has good forward lean, but Texas' run D and USC's run blocking made him look a hell of a lot better than he actually is.

So, Young spent an extra year in school, can't throw to moving targets and by your own admission is not as refined as Vick was at this point - all with an extra year in school that Vick didn't have......but he's better than Vick has ever been.

Thanks for that nugget of wisdom.

Sounds like enough to me. If Foster or Shelton had that we would be in business.

Young has touch, is better at reading defenses, and is more accurate. I think Young's passing ability is a major question mark, but Vick's wasn't. Everyone knew that Vick couldn't pass (despite solid mechanics).

You're in love with a different guy every week. White would be a decent addition to the team, but not in the first round, which is where we'd have to take him.

White's hype is growing at the same level of Young's, and that's gonna be questionable. I still like him late 1st, but he's got his share of issues, too; he's still gotta go through some good workouts and show a lot. The biggest problem seems to be that juniors that come out almost have a free pass from having to do the heavy lifting to get in - and honestly, simply speed and strength training from January to April isn't enough work to impress me sometimes.

That's my biggest beef with him, and juniors in general. OTOH, while I can't say my stock with White went up much this week, I still would take him late 1st.

I work every Saturday so I never watch college football. Litteraly last night was the first time I have sat down and seen these teams play and I was pretty impressed from a one game standpoint. I like LenDale's running style and have wondered today if he would make a more imediate impact in the NFL that the elusive style the Bush seems or seemed last night to use. Also of course it depend a lot on who drafted whom.

As far as Vince Young, well the dude is 6'5" and must be tough as nails so I have no doubt he will be drafted in the top 3 picks. He kind of reminded me of Daunte Culpepper with more ellusivness similar to Vic.

Linehart, well one game and I wasnt really that impressed any more than any other good QB. I just don't see a hall of famer type of guy...but hey that was the only time I have seen the guy so what do I know?

speaking of hype, Rod Wright let me down last night. He didn't really do much at all, and I didn't watch him exclusively of course, but it didn't seem like he was being doubled, either.
