    Falcons quarterback Vick opens restaurant; keeps mum about airport incident

    (Atlanta-AP) March 14, 2007 - Michael Vick is enthusiastic about his new winery restaurant. But the Atlanta Falcons quarterback steered away from questions about other endeavors during a grand opening Wednesday night.

    Vick spoke with the media at The Tasting Room in suburban Atlanta for the first time since being cleared of possible drug charges following an encounter in Miami with airport security.

    Vick said he was excited about his first business partnership. He had little to say about his new head coach, Bobby Petrino, or football in general.

    Asked about any conversation with Petrino, Vick said: "I'm happy that he is a part of the staff. I'm hoping that we can win some games. But Wednesday night is not about the upcoming football season, it's about raising the Atlanta spirit with this new restaurant."

    Vick drew attention in January when he attempted to bring a water bottle with a hidden compartment onto an AirTran flight at Miami International Airport. The bottle sparked concern from security screeners, and a police report said the compartment contained a "small amount of dark particulate" and a pungent odor consistent with marijuana. Vick was cleared on the basis of lab reports.

    He answered no questions about the incident Wednesday night.
