I don't want him to take snaps. I'm looking for someone to help the younger guys to transition to the pros. A mentor that has actually started and had some success. Getting a vet to start is merely a short term solution, we need to think longer down the road and give our young guys or the guy we draft tools to be succeed.

I think we talk to Farve. I think he will be ready next year.

I think we need a guy to start. If Clausen is our future then we do not want him to start any more games until he is ready. He is probably already damaged by the way this season has gone. He is cautious to a fault. I think Pennington is done and I want a guy who can play for at least a year before becoming the backup/mentor.

I never said that he would start but to me it's a bad idea to waste a roster spot, even on a backup, on a guy that won't make it through games and may not be all there physically. It's probably a better idea to hire him as a coach or special assistant.

Depends on who comes in and takes over.

As far as QBs, as soon as we got rid of Crossman, ST improved. I think the same will happen with our QBs when Scherer disappears. Can't wait.

If Luck stays in school then I think the smart thing is to try to find a veteran to either start or at least compete to start next year. We then either trade down or take BPA with our first round pick.

You gotta believe that. Nothing but bad things have happened since he's been here.

That is the truth. Maybe it is just a coincidence but all our QBs have sucked under his guidance.

Jake was about the same in 08 as in 09, and Moore's 09 was under Scherer.

Not that the guy's Bill Walsh, but he gets a lot of shit for having helped some guys play well, and both Anderson and Quinn played better under him than not.
