    Motorola v505

It's an AT&T phone and now I have SunCom. They replaced my phone with a new one when they took over but I want to use the other one for my wife.

    I have a data cable.

Or should I just pay the $25 from one of those sites?

Cingular called me recently saying that in order to stay on their service, I'd have to sign a 2-year agreement. I told them to fuck off, and they said my phone wouldn't work come April 1. I didn't mention to them that I unlocked it last year.

cell phones are "locked" so that when you buy a phone from Cingular, you can only use that phone with Cingular. It's just software...unlocking the phone means you can take that little chip that's inside the phone and put another providers chip in there and you phone works just fine.

Why does this matter? Your number can follow you around now to whatever provider you choose to go to, right?
