well yeah, Darren Sharper. But if we can beat blitzes and be efficient, that should limit that.

This might be the game that makes Sharper a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

I guess most posts I make these days are negative, so sorry about that, but we can't beat all out pressure worth shit. Historically too, with Henning and good Jake.

Someone explain to me (mainly because I havent been watching them, and I'm lazy) what the hell the difference is between the Saints this year and last year? Is the defense that much better? The offense seems the same, it was damn good last year too.

They added some guys Greer and Sharper, got Porter back from injury, the ends are playing better.

25% of their sacks have come from 7 man blitzes, but they also don't have more than 20. Just a fun fact to throw out there before Billick does.

They're running the ball more, and much more effectively, but I think a lot of that has to do with the LT being out and not wanting to get Brees killed. I expect them to go run heavy tomorrow.

Not seeing how they went from mediocre to dominant in a year...

In one year we added a few players, shuffled some around that we already had, tweaked the scheme and had a dominant running game. It's not like the saints didn't have talent in guys like Porter, Harper, Vilma, Ellis, and Smith; but they added some guys and got a new DC

Yeah, a lot of it has to do with the Saints underachieving last year. I picked them to win the division in '08 and couldn't believe they weren't a better overall team. They have a number of guys who seem to be "getting it" now.

they had added talent before, but now they're a little more into putting effort on D.

and the tastefully named Gregg Williams' blitzes haven't been ridiculously effective, but they're still just playing better ball.

Plus they got rid of Jason David.

    But, they're still beatable.
