    Question, @Black&Black:

You remember this play well I’m sure. Am I seeing Norman passing off an assignment to Boston. This feels like a disguise coverage type of play, almost like they’re baiting Ryan to make this throw. Or is it just cover two, and a stupid throw? Or is it zone and just a magnificent play by Boston? I’d love to hear your analysis on it.

Your response wins you a funny Mike Smith gif.

That was either a busted coverage we got away with thanks to a bad throw by Ryan and a great play by Boston, or it was Oscar Award winning acting by the nickleback and cornerback. I'm leaning towards the former. Sometimes you're just the Bull and things go your way.

It does illustrate why you need great safety play in a zone defense, just looking at the ground they have to cover to make plays. When you play a lot of man, you just need a guy with some cover skills who, at the very least, won't hemmorage YAC by missing tackles. You're typically not asking those guys to sprint 20 yards in 2.2 seconds to defend a pass.

Subpar safety play has something to do with the fact that we've given up the most explosive plays since 2016.

Also, you want that safety to know all of your plays. I think we underestimate how often players are freewheeling it out there. You don't want a freewheeling safety, obviously.
