Why not trade Weinke to Chicago for an o-lineman. There's got to be one up there better than what we got.
    They need a QB bad

I haven't even seen any speculation from rumor sheets on this. I think the conclusion is that they have him ranked as a garden variety 3rd stringer.

pretty funny when you dont even consider a guy good enough to trade, although I'm sure there was no teams asking anyways.

Perspective's fun. You get to deem yourself right because you yourself don't find something plausible regardless of the outcome.

    Thomas for Weinke?

Bears | Tried to Trade Thomas - from www.KFFL.com

Jay Glazer on FSN's Totally Football reported the Chicago Bears actively shopped RB Anthony Thomas to other teams, but other teams were not willing to meet the Bears' asking price of at least a third-round draft choice.

We have the need for a RB and we really don't need Weinke, so why not? But, on the other hand, we'd only need Thomas for one season, if that long, until Foster comes back. And, I really don't think Thomas would sit on the bench until Davis retired so he could take his place. So, I guess trading Weinke for Thomas is not such a good idea after all.

damn. A-Train would've been a fine fit here. But not at a 3rd.
