trade for Peyton Manning in 98?

    I've probably read this before, and I've probably been shocked by it before and forgot (I don't recall it, but who knows), but apparently we tried to trade our 1, Collins, Muhammad, and probably more, for Peyton.

    I wonder if that makes the Matt Ryan thing a bit more true (and I'd understand better why).

    I'd also have to wonder, of course, if this was before or after Gilbert - probably before, being that Gilbert was right before the draft.
    Sorry if all this was rehash for everyone else but I found it very interesting.
