i would hate that draft WP.

that'd be my worst nitemare. we'll end up with Gross and Ragone vs Leftwich and Jon. Trufant wouldn't be bad but i'd hate to see them picking a QB with our second pick. at that point, i'd much rather see us getting an OT or WR (well, just about anybody other than a QB that i'm probably gonna hate) at that point. if they can't get the QB they want in the first round, then why not wait till next year and look to get a QB with a presumably lower first round pick?

curious about all the talk about needing a safety. are they down on Minter or Grant or are they just wanting some depth?

you better add signing a FA TE if ya gonna wait that long to draft one.

That's what I was wondering. Lefty is a mobile threat kind of like Dan Marino was. I think people see a black QB and just assume that he is mobile. Kyle Boller is probally the most mobile QB in this draft.( I don't consider Seneca Wallace a QB)

    As stated earlier...

Leftwich and ANYONE makes the draft a huge success IMO. To sit at #9 (or move up for that matter) and get Leftwich means we possibily got the best player in the draft the last 2 yrs at two of the the highest value positions.

Not to mention Leftwich is gonna tear up the league IMO. He is too smart and too accurate to be a bust. He is better now than 50% of da bums playing QB right now in the NFL.

    My gut feel right now...
We pass and go CB or OT and wait for Simms in round 2. Believe it or not?

that's a huge fear of mine as well. I can handle Trufant at 9 but not over Leftwich.

Well, I'm solidly in the camp of taking Lefty if he is there. Though it would be sweet with all this drop talk to get him in a trade down.

I do question his being there at 9. Zona would be hard to pass on him or Boller at 6, Dallas and the Bears could suprise, the Jags are looking at QBs, and Baltimore IMO will move up to take a QB if it feels it must. I don't see them standing pat and just letting us take him or Boller.

Which brings us back to moving up to Chicago or Minnesota. I'd almost hate to think what a bidding war with Baltimore might cost us, Chicago might be cheaper.

Yea. Shoot he could still go at #1. Workout needs to be decent to bad for him to last to #9. He better not light it up or someone is gonna grab em. I still think the best way he gets to us is for Houston to take Gross. Chicago won't pass Suggs and Zona won't pass Kennedy or Johnson. Sota wants Robertson and Dallas goes Newman more than likely. Jax goes Trufant IMO.

Oh well if we did pick Leftwich - I wouldn't really give a damn about the rest of the entire draft. Anyone else later would be icing on a very tasty cake to me.

    The big picture.

Looking at what I've percieve as the big picture through their eyes.

Had we signed Delhomme and not resigned Peete I'd say they would take QB #1 let him and Delhomme fight it out for #$1 and #2.

Had they just re-signed Peete, I'd say they wanted to groom a #1 under Peete for a year.

Having re-signed Peete and signing Delhomme I'd have to say they will look for a QB with raw skills who they could develop over the coarse of a few years.

with the #9 I see them going one of three ways' (again not based on what I feel but what I've been led to believe.)

Go Gross, not a flashy pick and not gonna make the fans happy but he solidifies your OL and helps clear lanes for Davis, afterall we are a running team.

Go Trufant, more of an impact pick. Fox's recent comments
could be a smokescreen to try to intice a trade, I'd say go CB but then why sign Howard to the higher tender offer thus costing more money? Though I quess that wouldn't matter if we cut him with no bonus is their a cap hit?

Trade down, I belive this would only happen if Robertson falls to #9 which could happen depending on Minnesota. But I read he's the only guy that the Saints would trade up for.
