CrazyDave, what kind of jeep is that? Is that an old landcruiser? And another question for anyone... say you have an old jeep like a 46 Willys, is it feasible that you could tag it someday and really drive it in bad weather etc?
I think maximum speed is only about 40 miles an hour. Would that be legal, dangerous, stupid etc???

    It's an old landcruiser.... 1979.

And you can get the Willys tagged. My grandfather had one in Chicago and used it to drive around and pick up his employees when it snowed. It was slow as shit but would go through anything.

My uncle has an old Willys Jeep that used to belong to my grandfather. It has been in the family since the 40s. My dad tells a story about how when he was a kid back in the 50s they took that Jeep on a road trip from North Carolina to Kentucky. They packed six people in it and took off. Dad was one of the smaller kids so he had to ride on top of the rear wheel well since all the seats were full. I guess people were tougher and roads were slower back then. Dad said it would only go about 40mph but that was about as good as you could do in a car since the roads were so crooked on the route they took. When I was growing up my grandfather used the Jeep on his farm. I never saw it come anywhere near getting stuck.

I would love to have one of the old landcruisers just to putz around in around town, I've always loved them. I worked with a radiologist who had one (sure he still does) and he drove it daily. I think they are actually drivable on the real road and more usable. The Willys is just for side roads and bad weather, but I want to keep it always. I learned how to drive in it and like Thelt said, there's no where, NO WHERE it won't go.
