I am concerned that we've let our entire OL and DT depth walk. Hangartner, Bridges, Walker and Gibson played alot of snaps for us last year. And Omiyale is a FA too.

If it's a cap question, then I question why they kept Anderson over Gibson or Hangartner?

Or I wonder if they have options on the table for a Peppers deal that involve multiple picks that we could use to rebuild depth?

Does anyone really see people clamoring for these guys early in FA? If they want to re-sign they will probably have time to.

I agree that these guys won't be high on anyone's list, but it just seems to me that once free agency hits, it's rare that a player will sign a deal with their former team. If the incumbent teams wants the player, they usually have worked something out.

What could make our situation different is that we could be trading Peppers and freeing up $16mm of cap space.

I also found it a little odd that we didn't free up space by extending Delhomme. I thought that was a gimme, given the staffs public insistence that "he's our man"....

One name I like, but there's not chance in hell it would happen because of his off the field issues, is Tank Johnson.

I wouldn't take him even with the off the field stuff, he is too weak against the run.

Hangartner wasn't RFA, so we have no control over what he does. As for Gibson, we'd get no compensation and I imagine there may be special teams considerations with Anderson. Personally I wish we hadn't tendered him either.

special teams was the only place we have evidence of Anderson playing (primarily) this past season. He could have walked, IMO

Once we managed to keep Landon Johnson by restructuring, it made no sense to me to spend $1 mil on Anderson.
