I think this is pretty good news. We get to hang on to a player we have a lot invested in but do not have to put much more money into him unless he proves he can still play and stay healthy.

It was a bad idea to extend him last year but today's news is as good as could be hoped for.

I love TD. Love his heart and his drive and theres no doubt that when healthy, he's a pro bowl caliber LB. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't think he'll be healthy again.

So Marty has us committed to a guy after a 3rd ACL tear in a little over 2 years. We are up tight against the cap, Stewart will be a free agent soon and oh btw, Cam Newton will be looking to get paid 2-3 years from now.

And Marty still has a job? I swear he's got pics of Jerry with a stripper or something. Maybe he's a democrat.

There is not much to lose with keeping TD. His $700k salary is not going to make much difference to our cap. If he can't make it back and stay healthy this year he probably retires.

Giving a $35.5 million extension to a guy coming off of two consecutive ACL tears was never "just right to do." Please try to be more intelligent with the things you post, if only as a courtesy to others.

He's never made a Pro Bowl and never deserved to. He's a good linebacker when healthy, but never great.

Don't forget that the pro-rated signing bonus money will count against the 2013 cap even if he retires or gets cut. This made things easier for 2012, but the team still gets screwed by Hurney's idiotic decision.

7 million. He could've played out the last season at nothing more than half of that.

I am not defending what Hurney did last year. I am just saying that I am happy with the latest news. It puts some lipstick on the pig so to speak.

With him still on the team there is that outside shot that he comes back 100% and stays that way all season. If that happens the money we have in him is not that outrageous.
