    Why are we expecting anything?

And considering he's most likely done, and we passed on Senn and Connor, seems like OLB is a glaring need.

Neither Senn nor Connor were close to good enough, and yeah - OLB is a big need now, it seems...

There are several run and chase types of OLB that will be available in round should we choose to address the need in the draft. I like Lavonte David from Nebraska.

WLB is never that hard to fill.

    Example: James Anderson

Who was he before he filled in 2 years ago?

I hope they have a plan besides just hoping Davis can come back. Granted it is not a huge need to fill like some other areas but they need to address it one way or another.

You can get a solid LB in the 4th round or later. Unfortunately Hurney's dumb ass already locked us into Davis returning.

I read that we would probably cut him and then try to resign him to a more cap friendly deal. Is that still possible?

As has been noted here before, cutting him doesn't create much cap savings because of the way that the deal was structured (option bonus vs roster bonus). they could still cut him and try to re-sign him, but that would be, IMO, a move centered around saving $8 million in cash rather than managing the cap. That $8 million is a significant amount and i am not sure that JR is prepared to stroke that check no matter how hard TD has been working to come back.

edit: It was also pointed out (can't remember who) by someone that there are significant positives to our future cap hit from TD's contract by getting out of it now.
