us UNC fans remain optimistic about next year. Losing the transfers really means little especially since they sucked. and yeah, yeah I know Boone looked decent towards year end and he woulda made a decent backup - but admit it . HE SUCKED and everyone on here knows it and said as much ALL last season.
Granted that Doherty does need to get his shit together and he needs to hire at least one new assistant that knows something about teaching basketball - great recruiters are nice but the team needs help elsewhere, don't you know.
anyway - they are still just "prospects" and we have heard the hype before but it is reading stuff like this that keeps the fire burning.
This is a game report by recruiting guru Clint Jackson from the Jordan Brand Classic all star game in DC :
Sean May's jumpshot was made of silk last night. He rained treys from all over the court and found himself in the right place at the right time on more than one occasion. His heated tangle with Carmelo Anthony got a little out of hand as May slung him to the floor and even barked at him a bit as Anthony laid there. Later they made peace, but obviously Anthony knew that the 260-pound May was not to be taken lightly. May earned co-MVP along with Stoudemire as he scored 26 and snatched 10 boards.
Rashad McCants is one cocky dude. It seems that he just takes an assertive and intense attitude no matter who he's playing. Another brilliant game for the future Tar Heel as he dropped in 24 points and connected on 3-of-4 from the arc. He is so athletic and just forces his will on the other team whenever he gets the opportunity to do so. His confidence and leadership are two qualities that he'll bring to Chapel Hill from day one. And as usual, his post-game interviews were candid and comical as we've come to expect.
Note there is no mention of THE BEST player coming to town in Ray Felton. But it is the attitude and demeanor coming to Chapel Hill in these two plus Felton that will make next years team full of sophomores and freshmen ten times better than last years team.
