Maybe this would be some sort of feather in your cap had I actually claimed none of that happened. Not sure what you are so proud of.

On the other hand the Patriots have no problem selling out and their home record since opening Gillete stands for itself. The same cannot be said for the Panthers as they struggle to win at home and I believe they went 4-4 there this season.

the idea, of course, is that you were bitching about Carolina fans being fairweather and being a jackass, when your team, fresh off a pair of rings, had the problem you suggest we'll have. It doesn't matter if you claimed it or not.

I'm not 'suggesting Carolina might have a problem' I'm stating a fact. The Panthers have trouble filling that stadium and it is the worst NFL atmosphere anywhere.

Seymore disputed most of that article as soon as it was released citing misquotes and claimed that the rest was given to the reporter in a joking manner. There is no problem with sell outs or attendance in Foxboro, despite what some of you would like to think. NE fans have a reptation of showing up very early to tailgate and staying late.

Somebody (49erpi) should do some homework before opening their mouth. That person (49erpi) might be less likely to get humilited that way.

Panthers went 5-3 at home (not 4-4).

I do not believe the Panthers have ever had a blackout. I know we came close in 2001, but with world events (9/11) and a 1-15 football team, lackluster ticket sales are certainly understandable.

Panthers got their franchise on the backs of PSLs and corporate sponsorship. When big business is your biggest customer, rabid, blue collar fans are not going to be your fan base. Its a necessary evil.

This is too easy asswipe. What else do you have?

The cold hard facts, huh? Unless you've been to every NFL stadium for a game, I'm not sure you can cite the above as evidence. (Atlanta is much worse, BTW.)

What Seymour said is pretty conclusive in that article, despite what he tried to claim after the fact. He said what he said. He noted that the Patriots have spoiled fans who don't know when to cheer. And he noted that the stadium appeared half empty during a game against a divisional rival, during the stretch run of the season.

Which is generally the case with every other playoff contending team in the NFL.

5-3, the same as New England.

Backpedaling? No, again clarifying a statement/assertion that I made that was more out of frustration than coherent.

If you have something of substance to say, then have the balls to say it. All I have seen you do so far here is denegrate. If that is the best that you can do, then maybe you should try the Rant & Rave section.

That is why I said "I believe they went 4-4" I wasn't certain and didn't want to mistate a fact. So 5-3 it is. It doesn't change anything.

Blackouts are based on tickets sold, not asses in seats, which is where the Panthers struggle. They can't get the season ticket holders to show up and when they do show, keeping them there in the 2nd half has been a problem.

Unfortunately, that is what PSL's and over-priced club-level seats get you...fair-weather fans.

With the amount of PSL's in that staduim, selling out should not ever be a problem, however the fact that it has been a couple of times proves my point.

Which is what I just stated. Wine and cheese fans dominate Panther home games giving the hard-core, blue collar fans a bad reputation and it makes for a shitty NFL atmosphere.

Do you want to compare home records over the past five years or just in one down year for NE and a good year for Carolina? Let me know.
