    neither do scapegoats.
Jake didn't bring his best game. I can't think of anybody that did.

Bet Deshaun sends a thank you note to the Bear player who fell on & broke his ankle. Jake was bad and is periodically bad no doubt. It was just a little surprising coming in the playoffs where he usually is pretty good. I think the team just flattened out after the previous playoff games and had nothing left. The whole team has been hot and cold all season - you never knew which team would show up. I was surprised we made the playoffs because of the inconsistancy but then I thought we might be past that the way they played two weeks in a row. Obviously not.

We got spanked all across the board IMO. However, I hate how Jake is a sacred cow to some.

Difference between sacred cow and throw under the bus.

I don't think we should throw Peppers under the bus, either.

Yep. I think we all get that jake is a contentious point for some of us, and that there's a line drawn in the playhouse sand that we gotta argue about at every fucking convenient point.

But preconceived issues and told-you-sos aside, I'd have a much harder time saying this person or that person's responsible for the loss if everyone but that person came to play and played like a winner.

No, but I assume you remember how Peppers was a sacred cow for quite a while too. It took a long time for some to eventually let go and realize that he did some things worth criticizing. Oddly enough, that was about the time that he stopped doing things worth criticizing, so hopefully Jake will too.

    Jake "is what he is."

He is a gambler. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

My wife knows very little about football. She loves Jake. She also says that Jake makes her crazy on gameday because he makes some crazy decisions. Sometimes these crazy decisions lead to Smith outwrestling a CB for a great play, sometimes these crazy decisions end up going the other way for 6.

Boy, that Delhomme bandwagon flipped over doing 50 mph, didn't it?

A couple of you had him in the hall of fame about 48 hours ago.
