No pressure? What the hell game were youz guyz watching. 2 sacks, 5 hurries, 3 knockdowns in the first half alone.

there were a couple times where he had time but hurried, and there were times where he had legit concerns about getting torn in half. Not unlike Chicago, his first picks were bad footwork in a half where he was getting pressured hard when protections weren't holding the way you'd want and dumpoff options weren't available.

As noted, one of the sacks was entirely Jake's fault, and only 3 knockdowns is actually a pretty small number for an NFL half, especially as much as Seattle was blitzing.

The funny thing is the pocket wasn't colapsing AROUND him. The whole O-line was getting man handled and drove directly in his face. He had no where to step up. When he did have time, he was so geeked up he was pressing. Jakes emotion is his greatest downfall, not so much his decision making, IMO. They took Smitty away and it freaked him out, he's gotta learn to real that in.
I don't think even Chicago has the team speed Seattle showed today, and Tatupu might just be the best MLB in the NFL right now. It was like he knew the call before it came from the sideline.
That speed up front and jamming WR's off the line was a perfect game plan. Totally disrupted everything from pass routes to running lanes.

They did good job of pressuring up the middle. It played into their hands, because Jake makes his best throws while stepping up into the pocket.

And I don't think Seattle did anything genious defensively. A lot of it was from us not having any offensive balance, and getting behind early. It's pretty easy to defend anyone when you have that working in your favor.

As noted, Seattle did exactly what I described them doing in the games I watched. They almost always blitz to cover gaps on first and second downs while dropping on third and longs.

This hurts coming from someone dressed up like Scott Fowler.

When I said quarterback controversy, I did not mean throw Jake to the curb. I like Jake, always have, and I like the intangibles that he brings to the team. His poor decisions, however, cost us not only this game (or a portion of it), but also the Miami, Chicago, and Tampa losses...and damn near the Detroit game. I stand by my assertion that any decent quarterback, given protection, can look good. But by no means do I think that Weinke, or LeFors, for that matter, are a better option than Jake....his poor decisions tonight just drove me bonkers.

I agree, as posted earlier in this thread, that collectively the whole team stunk it up. But when you give the opposition the ball deep in your territory, it puts your team in a big hole. Jake did this twice. That is where my frustration came from, and should have originally voiced it more coherently.

I also agree that we did have a pretty darn good season, and the team did great to make it as far as they did. It's just damned disappointing to go out like they did. They're better than they played tonight, I think everyone can agree.
