They don't make that one anymore... You can probably still find it somewhere, but just be advised that whatever supply is on hand is the last of them.

Good TV though. I remember trying to talk Meat into getting his cause I wanted one so bad.

Circuit City and visualapex have them.

Circuit city has the consumer version I believe, but not the Panasonic TH-42PWD7UY, which is the commercial version and is discontinued.

Either way, it's still a great TV.

Right - and visualapex has the industrial.

Right now the only holdup is whether the lack of speakers is a deal breaker. I'm thinking that I will go with the industrial model and buy the freaking speakers.

With this tv am I going to get any benefit from getting an HDMI port?

screw the speakers. buy a decent surround sound system with the money you save. Will sound 10x better anyway.

You can ask VisualApex, but I can't imagine what benefit you'd get from an HD input for an ED picture. Component cables should look/work just fine.

I'd also make this your DVD watching TV. Until HD-DVD or Blu Ray becomes the norm, you wont be able to beat the experience of the native res=the recorded widescreen res on a DVD. No upscaling or de-interlacing.
