    2) Where will the TV go

    Nothing else really matters.
    For me, the Plasma was the only option as I wanted it to be large but not obtrusive, and viewable from a wide angle. Given that, the Panasonic models, best sourced from Visual Apex, are fantastic. I have the 50" and LOVE it.
    If you don't care about using up floor space, some of the thinner DLP monitors are good, but I'd still get a plasma simply because it looks SO much nicer (physical appearance, not display quality, although I think that is better as well).

    I was thinking about the 42" Panny EDTV myself....can't beat the price and the picture...

    My In-laws bought that one and I had the opportunity to watch it this weekend. I'm sold! I'm trying to convince the wife into the 50".
