Isn't it refreshing to see Ozzie Smith inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Someone inducted basically because of his defensive skills. Can you believe that in this day and age?
I think I read somewhere that he hit only 29 HRs during his career. I would imagine though, that he was around a .260 / .270 career average. Can anyone verify that?

Smith was not known for his offense. He batted just .262 in his career with 2,460 hits, 28 homers and 793 RBI.

He was not known for the longball but was a pesky switch hitter.
Playing primarily on turf and slapping and running. Good wheels also. I hated pitching against that bunch, Vince Coleman, Ozzie Smith, Jose Oquendo, Willie Mcgee, Milt Thompson uggggggh...

Yeah....would be great to see each team have at least one of this type of a player. Not saying that could be this good.....but close would work. Adds something to the game.
