    1) What is the official title of the song?

    2) Where can I find it at?

    This song has to be somewhere in cyberspace . . One of the best sports themed songs ever (perhaps its even #1) . . . . Who has it on their hard drive :D :D ? ? ? ?

    Ive looked for a while now, still looking, best I got is this:

    Even casual Masters viewers have heard the CBS theme music countless times, but may not have known that there are words that go with the soft tinkling piano melody to "Augusta?" Dave Loggins, of "Please Come to Boston" fame, wrote the song around 1980, with lyrics help from photographer Frank Christian. They then took it to CBS, which now uses the instrumental version extensively. The words are an ode to ever thing Augusta:

    "Well, it's springtime in the valley on Magnolia Lane;

    It's the Augusta National and the master
    of the game.

    Who'll wear that green coat on Sunday
    afternoon?

    Who'll walk that 18th fairway singing
    this tune?

    "Augusta, your dogwoods and pines,
    they play on my mind like a song.

    Augusta, it's you that I love,
    it's you that I miss when I'm gone

    "Well, it's Watson, Byron Nelson,
    and Demaret, and Player and Snead,

    And it's Amen Corner,
    and it's Hogan's perfect swing;

    It's Sarazen's double eagle
    at the 15th in '35,

    And the spirit of Clifford Roberts
    that keeps it alive.

    "Augusta, your dogwoods and pines,
    they play on my mind like a song.

    Augusta, it's you that I love, it's you that I miss when I'm gone.

    "It's the legions of Arnie's Army and the Golden Bear's
    throng, Wooden-shafted legend, Bobby Jones."

    found this on CBS message board...

    The song you seek is almost impossible to get a copy of.Its melody is based on an aria from the 16th century Italian opera ''La Beeyaccia de Sarranno'',by Mario Spermatazoa.The aria-''Mi Ballza,Dey Eeetcha''is a moving account of the plight of a Venetian merchant who has taken as his wife a much younger woman.One morning,he awakens to an empty chamber,only to find his wife gone,along with all of his gold.She has,however left him with a groin filled with crab lice.Kenny Loggins took the theme,and added his own lyrics,and CBS purchased the rights to the song,not realizing that the song was pirated from the opera.Although the issue of who owns the rights to the song is still being evaluated,you can find the original operatic version on the Sony Classics series.Just about any record store with an opera section should stock this wonderful gem.

    If FOX were to ever broadcast THE MASTERS, I'm sure they would use this as their theme song :) . . . I'm sure the opening montage would rock :D :D !!!!
