    had a witbier in at Summertime Brews Fest...probably try to put something into CLT Oktoberfest too.

    followed offering this with putting my Pumpkin Stout in at Oktoberfest. Was a big hit. Anyone go?

    I am so missing brewing, but at this point, between work and the travel it involves and life, this just doesn't make the cut. Hope you can stay with it Mags.

    I'm still brewing, I just don't write about it here. It's tough with the toddler but I picked it up around when she turned 1 to get after it again. Made a great belgian quad recently and am brewing in a pro-am next weekend.
    Have a brew fridge now, working on making my keggle and mash tun.

    yeah that was kinda neat.
    Homebrewing at the white house wouldn't happen in the older times. Most of the farmer-gentleman type Presidents - including Washington but not Adams - would've had a house ale at their normal estates though.


    So you're a brewer, goodoleboy?

    I am a rookie brewer. Just started Jan 1. Done 3 5 gallon batches so far. First one was an extract kit, second one was an extract batch put together with fresher ingredients.

    I just bottled my 3rd batch yesterday. It was an Australian style BIAB (beer in a bag) all grain batch described above. I wound up with around 76% efficiency with that method.

    I had an old turkey fryer laying around with an 8 gallon pot so I was ready to go with a paint strainer nylon mesh bag from Lowes.

    fun. I haven't counted but I've probably done 50 or so batches, including five festival beers. I'm slowly working my way toward full boils (keggle) and all-grain (using the vertical cooler/stainless braid style). Next week I'm brewing a Belgian IPA from mash provided by Natty Greene's to be entered into competition to be brewed at the brewery.
