How good are they. At 5-1 and in truth it should be 6-0, they look to be moving up the pecking order in college football. On defense they look to be a top 25 team. They still don't pound the ball for the tough yards on the ground and the qb is average but I like the direction Butch has them headed in.

I think them and Georgia Tech are on about the same level. around Top 25. They just totally dismantled a UCONN team who has a decent shot of going to a BCS bowl (because the Big East is bad, but BCS bowl nonetheless). I don't see how Va. Tech beat them. Every time I see VT they don't look all that impressive.

certainly will make a bowl, which will help recruiting for them.

How badly is Shoop holding them back?

They have a lot of athleticism on defense, but they're still giving up 140+ rushing yards per game, which is awful. Carolina has improved, but they're not nearly as good as their record indicates. UConn, Rutgers, and VT aren't as good as they've been in previous years.

Yeah, I'm willing to admit that Carolina is a lot better than I originally thought. I'm just not convinced that they are as good as many think right now. A couple big wins doesn't make you a legit team (ECU fans know what I am saying). I do not like Carolina in the least bit, but they have been somewhat impressive.

If Butch keeps getting big time recruits to Chapel Hill, and you can't bet your ass he will.....Look out !!! I knew he would make Carolina a winner, there is no reason that UNC should not be an elite college football program.

they have great facilities and a great coach. I don't think Butch stays long enough to make that place an elite program though. The thing about Carolina is when it comes down to basketball vs. football, basketball will win out.....

great facilities would probably mean not having delays for stadium mishaps
