The Sum of All Fears

Went to see it over the weekend, and although I'm a stickler for movies not being true to the novels on which they are based, this was pretty good. I like complex dialogue and story plots.

yeah, that's why I'm not going to see it. While I'm not huge on the novel to movie thing, it's usually because I haven't read the novel this one I did, and I found a big part of the story to be about the personal aspects of making decisions and living with personal problems/interactions as causes/driving forces in the decisions. Ryan being some young dude with what I'd assume comes with a hot young love interest, that might make the movie more sexy, but the whole thing just seems more interesting with a middle aged, tired, over worked impotent family man who was suspected of wrong-doing and cheating but was really doing the right thing all along.

Right. That's why I tried to go into the movie with an open mind. If I watch the movie without thinking about a book, it's not a bad movie.

We saw it. I wondered how they were going to cram that book into a movie (it's my favorite Tom Clancy novel), but they did a good job. My husband and I both want to see it again when it comes out on video because it is one of those movies that is so jam packed full of fast moving action that you feel like you surely missed something! Good movie.
