Quinn can ask all he want no one will trade for him.

Cleveland ran a QB dive on 1st and 10, it didn't look like a botched snap either.

either could be good later, but clearly aren't now. Whoever they replaced Scherer with, must have a lot of experience choking on it because he's expertly passed that skill onto Quinn.

Not that Scherer is something of magic and lore or anything, I think at best the jury's still out after turning Jake around a little bit but no doubt that the Philly game hurts.

All NFL head coaching jobs are desirable, since there are so few, but Oakland is like settling for the psycho-bitch who fucks your best friend.

Tampa might be the first head coach-less team in league history.

Raheem's got enough issues already for taking an unsavory job, and he's done such a great job at it. Holy crap he's awful.

But then, he's got no respect with his people, he's got almost no cred as a future coordinator, and at this point I think his best bet at having any NFL future is hoping Gruden comes back so he can go with him.

He looks like he just got out of high school. I think ownership is a big reason why there are so many bad teams right now. A lot of shitty hires, and a lot of good coaches getting fired after a short trial period. No stability.

well, when one or two teams near you suddenly pop out surprise 11-5 seasons, there's a feeling like being in year 3 of 5 of a rebuild year is a waste. I don't think that Mike Smith is that fucking fantastic a coach personally, but somehow he's making some things happen. Conversely I had no doubt that Sean Payton was a fine coach, but I'm surprised it took him this long to find someone who'd help him get the ball back to his offense. On paper, that makes Mike Smith a better coach. And what the fuck is that about?

There's no doubt that the Jets, of course, will suffer for years because of zealous ownership, crappy front office, and for nothing more than envy of the Pats and Giants' QBs and rings. The worst thing that happens to the Jets every year is that they start fast and think they're decent.

Atlanta is a little bit over-cooked. People rag us for having an easy schedule last year, but they forget that Atlanta played the same teams. And this year, they haven't beaten anyone with a winning record. I think Smith and the Falcons will be ok for a few years to come, but I don't see any sort of dynasty brewing.
