Panthers 32 ZERO AND FOUR (0-4, yes 0-4) TEAM MISSING OVER HALF OF ITS OFFENSE AND DOWN TO THREE HEALTHY RECEIVERS 29, and within a hairs breadth of forcing OT.

Stop rationalizing. We suck right now. We are really, really predictable and completely incapable of stopping an aggrssive passing attack because our coordinators are shit, our personnel has taken a hit, and our players play with zero intensity in too many situations, especially with the game on the line*.

    * With the exception of Ken Lucas.

No dude, you stop being irrational. I am stating a fact. We won. At the end of the day whether its 72-0 or 32-29 it counts the same. 2003 how many times did we have to rely on a block kicked to get us a win? those went down to the wire just as much or more than this one did. sure our defense faded in the second half and our running game was aenemic. but we won. we were ahead the entire game. on their last drive we made the stop (not a commanding stop but a stop all the same). we have intensity issues on defense and a suspect running game. but saying we suck is idiotic. we should only be so lucky as to go 14-2 and win every game just like this one. i like my wins like Southern Yankee likes his women...any way he can get em.

at this point in the season I know 2 things ...i know we won't go 0-16 or 1-15 and I know that we wont go 16-0 or 15-1.

For today, but tomorrow, against a team that has actually won a game? That was yet another harbinger of continued mediocrity.

Against the defending Super Bowl champions, this is expected. Against a team missing half of the offensive personnel that they didnt let go to free agency, this is pathetic.

Yeah, those aren't problems, even though you acknowledge them. They havent been problems all season long.

I like how you glossed over what you recognize as issues. We got lucky. Against a competent, injury free team with more than one veterean playmaker, we're gonna get slaughtered if we keep this up.

You'd prefer 1-3 and having lost to that team? We never put ppl away, it's a serious flaw IMO. Last team we really put away I remember was Cinci.

And I hate going for two unless we just have to. Did in the SB too. Fuck that shit.

So okay, the team isn't close to perfect but we posted a win.

There was nothing about last night to cheer about. Anyone harboring illusions of being a contender for the NFC title in our current shape/playstyle is completely blinded by homerism. Based on how we're playing, 7-9 not only looks likely, it may even be overachieving. The playoffs would require a miracle.[/QUOTE]

Wasn't cheering in the fourth quarter, that's for sure, but there was a lot of good stuff that got us enough points to win that I did cheer about.

Okay, so I'm a blind homer but I don't think we'll play bad all year and do expect us to contend for the playoffs. There are a lot of things that should improve. The OL should get a lot better over the next few weeks. T Davis will get his bearings eventually and contribute. Gaines is a beast and isn't dropping balls so far, we're using the TE. I think Gamble will get better and I don't see Colbert sucking all year. Pep will show up and change some games.

I was in no way happy about how we almost self destructed last night or stuff from our losses but I still believe the glass is half full.

i glossed over nothing. i stated what the problems were. i gave the cause for them above in that they are problems of intesity. as a fan that is all i can really do. the fact that you just happen to express that like dollface would write it doesnt make you any more of a fan. i can whine about lack of intesity all i want but in the end it does nothing. i can be happy for my team and belive that they will continue to make the neccesary adjustments in order to fill gaps and be competitive. i enjoy the wins and kick the dog during the losses. I see the issues that are evident from watching play. But also as a fan I believe in my team and feel that they will make the neccesary changes. I am worried about the season, not because I think we suck, but because I dont know what we are. We are so incredibly schizo that its impossible to tell. i know that when we bring it, we can be playoff calibur and then some. but I also know that if we dont then we are a bottom feeder. not being a homer. just being realistic.

You're entire post is an excuse. Perhaps you recognize there's room for improvement. That isn't the issue. The issue is if there's capability and if so, then what the fuck is being done to ensure it happens?

Last night, the answer was nothing. Best Evidence = It will continue.

you didnt read it did you? to paraphrase for the literacy impaired.

I am a fan. i see problems. I enjoy wins. whining incessantly on message boards about problems does not make the team better so i save that for the losses. see above about the whole enjoying win thing

Brett Favre = possibly the greatest QB ever, and he was on last night.
Ahman Green = Still a very good RB.
Najeh Davenport = He and Green both will be starting for someone next year.
Donald Driver = Very accomplished receiver.
Robert Ferguson = Former second round pick now forced into action by Walker's injury.

Grady Jackson = One of the best run stoppers in the game.
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila = In the top 10 in terms of sacks since 2001.
Nick Barnett = Former first round pick who is an up and coming MLB.
Al Harris = An above average cornerback.

Anyone who says that Green Bay is the worst team in the league should have their head examined. They have some major weaknesses and they've been playing like crap, but they still have well above average talent.
