    zero for three.

it has nothing to do with my faith in Jake Delhomme...so don't go telling me what i think about him. i happen to think that he is poised for a big year if we can get him through 16 games with his head still attached to his shoulders.

in the first two weeks of 2003, nfl teams were a combined 9-21 when throwing the ball even 35 times in a game. and that includes wins by pass happy teams like New England, Indy, and Saint Louis.

i don't really care what team it is, if you tell me before the game starts that they will chuck it 40+ times, i don't like their chances.

I'm not telling you what you think. I'm saying that you saying that would be akin to what you're trying to pin on me when you don't know what I'm thinking. Which is why I said " if I wanted to go your route." Hope that "being mad" thing is working out for you.
Don't be afraid of the damn pass. We've shown we can win with the pass.

Oh, and the 40 pass attempts thing is a cliche. It can be detrimental, but mostly because teams who do that are often coming from far behind - and guess what? Those teams are traditionally going to lose, by definition. Great big ol' Duh for the heads up on that one.

    >>>>>we lose if Jake throws 40 times...

depends on how many of those are completions...

I totally believe we can win with Jake, and we went in to the season deeper at WR than years past. Like I said, the Oline is getting an upgrade this week. They are going to have to double Moose. Foster is more the type of RB KC has problems with. This team has shown they have the ability to win in a hostile enviroment.

oh and this just in, Denver ain't that fucking good

Take the PANTHERS and the OVER

it is not about being mad. but you come at me with a condescending comment about we lose if we get outscored.

sure, we have shown that we can win with the pass...and we have shown that we can winby running Deshaun Foster.

sure, teams like the bills of the 90's won a lot of games by chucking it that much. Indy does it now too. but we don't run the same offense as Buffalo and we don't have Peyton Manning.

The numbers show that teams that throw it that much do not win much. And sure, it is a product of usually playing from behind. Which is where my comment came in. Our offense is not designed to throw the ball that much. As far as i know, Stephen Davis was still slated to start until after Thursday's practice. Should we implement a game plan to throw the ball 40 times in two days?

Exibit A, last Super Bowl. Delhomme had a bucket of passing yards

I am a big fan of smashmouth ball control offense. I do however think we can win if we have to throw the ball too though. The difference is that we have to score more points cause our D will not be as good if they have to play more, as they will if we pass more. The times in the past when we settled for field goals or run a draw on third and eight have to go away.

I think we will still have a decent run pass balance with the players we have now. Foster is not the back that Davis is yet but he is better than what a lot of teams have. If he is patient and waits on his blocks and does not fumble then he can fill in nicely. If Colbert plays well and we involve the tight end more I think we will be fine on offense as long as we have some plays set up to take advantage of blitzes.

The thing I most want to see is how well our front seven does stopping Holmes.

Sometimes I wonder if throwing more to the tight end would just take catchs away from Proehl. If that is the case I would rather throw to Proehl.

Jake has a habit of telegraphing his passes to one person (usually Steve Smith) If they would throw 2 passes to the TE a game I bet the Panthers could get some quick slant passes to the WRs. The safety couldn't crowd up as much
