The local news here just reported on the game and said "played their last game as the Charlotte Hornets. Next year they'll be the New Orleans Hornets or the New Orleans Something Else"

Damn, I wish I remembered to tape this potential final game of the CLT HORNETS . . . Oh well , I will still root for these guys down in Nola . .


I've been following this team since Day 1. You've got a good bunch of guys on there; too bad folks were too stupid too realize this (Funny, folks had no problem supporting the Panthers even after the Rae Carruth had his pregnant girfriend killed . . . . . ) . I think one reason interest in the Hornets declined is because once the Panthers came to CLT in 1996, they no longer became the 'in' thing to go to. This despite the fact that Hornets have had a much better record in postseason play vs. the Panthers (their 1996 run to the NFC title game seems so long ago now !!!!!!). Oh well, I'm sure we will be whining for another NBA team eventually 2-5 years from now . .

I hate the game more than the players. It's boring. On any given night both teams run one play each. Clear out for the star while the rest chew their nails or check their voicemail. If you put an NBA player's mentality into a football player they would get killed. You can see the passion for the game in the NFL, college basketball, and most other sports. But not NBA. Couple that with bad management and lack of player/fan connection and it spells disaster. Not just for the Hornets but for the NBA as a whole. I think dumping the Hornets will prove to be a wise finanical decision. Others are gonna fall.
