My quick answer would be no. However, I think it would depend upon who was sitting there.

think i'd like to trade down. lot's of nice looking players in round 2. i'd like to take 3 (S, OL, OLB) there and maybe find RB depth in the 3rd.

    Our original 2nd round pick.

Trade down from the 1st for another 2nd round pick.

Take what we get from that trade, throw in a 4th, and maybe a 4th next year, and trade up from our 3rd round pick, for the 3rd 2nd rounder.

That last is not probable, but it is possible.

    Certainly not impossible.

A fair bit of uselessness? Yes. There aren't really any spots in the second where there are three players you absolutely must have. You could get one to drop, and one or two will as well be reaches as good value. Past that, we have a few needs. Not a ton of needs. Were there good value above us, I'd rather trade up than down, but at this point the RBs have shuffled themselves to a point to make that useless, and the LBs aren't worth trading up for nor are they impossible to be there at 27.

I agree they likely will not move up. However, the 89th pick would be in the 3rd round.

Correct. You don't give up that 2nd, even if we do tend to waste it on offensive players who don't meet expectations half the time.

problem is you traded away our 3rd that i wanna use on a RB

am i looking at the value chart wrong? looks to me like it would take a couple mid-to-late 50 picks to get our first round pick. not saying anybody has 'em or there's a chance in hell. just sayin if i'm allowed to dream, somehow we manage to pick up a couple of picks in the 2nd for our first to go with the one we already own and i kill three birds instead of two ... and maybe we get Drew in the 3rd (as I think he'll probably be there for the taking). i definately don't won't to trade up unless someone up in the top 15 that i'm not even dreaming about now falls like a rock (maybe one of the OLs or LBs). actually, my hope is winston at the moment though my gut (worry) is that we may be white-hot. my track record though should be noted. i have never ever had a team pick the player i wanted or figured. i'm 0 for a hundred and something.

I was just being difficult in a nice kind of way. It was like you laid out a logic puzzle, and I had to take it up. Yes, it probably would not be smart to trade up from the 3rd that far.
