That's (IMHO) the steal pick of round #1

It'll look like it come draft day because San Diego will probably take him at #12 because there aren't many guys capable of playing 3-4 DE in this draft, but #23 is probably around where he should go. He's not overly explosive; he's more of a DE/DT tweener.

Try some decaf dude. I still think the Jets gave up too much for Jolley and that they could have gotten a comparable tight end in free agency without giving up draft position.

Just as a matter of personal preference, I'm pretty high on him.

Like who? Best thing we found was Freddie Jones and while he's probably about Jolley's level, Jolley's much younger. Plus with the receiving core that the Raiders have I don't see them using the TE much this year.

What ever happened to that other TE the Raiders drafted a few years ago?

I would rather have signed Freddie Jones and kept my draft position than to have traded for Jolley.

And some fans wanted Dameyune Craig to be our quarterback. As I already noted, you don't even know who Doug Jolley is.

    Wp28:
You're probably thinking of Teyo Johnson, who is really just a tall wide receiver. The Raiders obviously think he can take over for Jolley, but I'll believe it when I see it. He's adequate as a vertical threat, but can't really do anything else you want from a tight end.

    FW118:
Jones may have been about equal to Jolley about 5 years ago. Jolley is a good all-around tight end but he doesn't get much pub because he's on the West Coast and Oakland doesn't feature the tight end in the passing game as much as other teams.

Are you Doug Jolley's wife or something? He has never done anything in his career to merit the value the Jets put on him. Maybe they see potential that no one else does or something.

Let's see, he was drafted in the second round and was traded for third round value. I'm having trouble figuring this out, Thelt. Which comes first, the second or the third round? Furthermore, I'm just curious, but do you think someone had to see something in a guy to take him in the second round?

I will at least give you credit for not lying and saying that you knew a damn thing about Jolley. Why you're continuing to argue after tacitly admitting that you know absolutely nothing about him is beyond me, however. Just let it go.
