TBR.com at the Movies: JUWANNA MAN

Saw it today at AMC Theatres down in Pineville; it was the movie that was shot in CLT 2 years ago (there are a few scenes in the movie using the old Cityfair parking deck before the complex was blown up to make way for the newest BoA tower). It starred Migeul Nunez (I heard he has some NC ties, but I forgot where exactly :confused), Vivica A Fox, & Tommy Davidson. They had tons of overhead skyline shots of CLT as well as the Coliseum.
Other then seeing Vivica A. Fox in action, the movie wasn't that great . . . .

These kind of newer movies usually aren't that great. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed in Vivica Fox's choice in movie projects lately. Her last movie before this one "Two Can Play that Game" or whatever was horrific as well. She really needs to focus on selecting better scripts. She has too much talent to waste on B-grade nonsense like this.

If folks truly want to see black comedies about basketball, they are better off making a trip to the video store for old favorites such as "Fast Break," "The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh" or even some old clips of the Harlem Globetrotters. Granted, they may be older movies but I think they are much funnier and less raunchier than this newer junk out now.
