I have to admit i had a blast watching the draft Saturday. I was calling for Jarrett, Kalil and Johnson at our picks when we were on the clock so i wouldnt change a damn thing there. Love the Shaw pick too. Sounds like Robinson could be very interesting too.

But i had an awefull time coming to grips with the Beason pick, I swore it was gonna be Poslusny. Had we gone that route id have given them an A++. Im just not sure about all these linebackers that cant cover worth a shit and bite on play fakes. I certaintly see a playmaker in Beason and i like that alot, especially seeing him get thru the traffic with his quick feet. Just thought the more disaplined player was the way to go. See alot of Thomas Davis in that pick. Im pulling for Morgan to return even more now to be honest. Not that i worry about Beason, just to get more out of him with him being so versatile and Davis can work on being a true LB.

Maybe id have liked Wendling instead of Rosario in round 5, or Ben Patrick.
But i admit im not familiar with either players at all. I wonder how much hype wendling was getting because of You Tube. But i loved reading his write-up, sounded like a player.

I love that we traded down when the nightmare scenario hit us (Quinn being the one that slid) Im glad the Pats took Merriweather because i didnt want him here (i do wonder what part Beason had in that fracas come to think of it.) if that was who we were targeting. Didnt really want Olson. It was Nelson or Posluzny for me but i guess we had Beason rated much higher. Id just like to read the reasons why, im gonna be watching Pos alot this year but maybe, just maybe Tim Shaw will have something to say about it in the end too.

I wonder if we shyed away from Pos because we felt he was too similar to Morgan and we wanted a more naturally athletic LB instead. Plus, Pos did just tear an ACL too.

Loved our draft but yeah safety is still a huge hole. Wish we had made a play for Hamlin but he must be a bit of a turd.

PS Was totally shocked to see Keys enthusiasm. Maybe he will stick around the life of the contract.

From what I've read, Beason was one of the calmer heads when the fight broke out, and he was trying to break up the fights and get his team mates to the sideline. Definitely shows some leadership potential.

Thats great to hear because we werent hearing much about the rest of the Miami players. Yeah Merriweather was the main culprit going head stomping but alot of guys were involved that got a free pass.

Well, Piscatelli looked like a more natural safety in the shrine bowl (the only time I have seen either), but I tend to agree with you. IMO, neither will ever be much more than a bench/situational guy at best, and would not be the answer to our safety quandary.
