Suppose we draft both first day.

    Which would you draft first?

A guard will learn from Mitchell, play to our strengths.
(If you think we do a lot of draw plays now.........) just wait..

A tackle would probably be more value early and fix a larger need.

Either way, I'm sick of Atlanta blowing up our line, and now 'Orleans is starting to get in on the action.

OT: we actually have a huge need there. At guard we have two starters, and unfortunately there's always the chance Brzezinski returns. That's not to say we couldn't use a guard, especially if DB gets cut, and we could always use competition/future starters, but tackle's the immediate need.

Tackle is a bigger need but I would be awful tempted to bring in a top guard too. Elton Brown or David Baas would be a nice addition to our OL. Maybe we get a decent tackle in free agency and draft a guard.

I could see our guys drafting OL in the 2nd and 5th or 4th maybe (or 1st and 4th even) but not with our first two picks, and that's probably what it would take to get those two players Thelt.

Tackle. I actually liked Wharton and Reyes at guard last year, even though they weren't great. But tackle is a more pressing issue, IMO.

I was going to say a tackling guard that presses #7's, but that might be in bad form here since you guys take this way to serious for me....so I decided not to say it..............oops.

I do not think we get Baas and Brown. I just want one or the other. If we did get a chance to draft them both that would be great too. We could move Wharton to RT and probably be pretty good.

anyone mentioned the possibility of Elton Brown at RT? It probably wouldn't be farfetched to have a guy with his upside project to RT as a pro and that seems to be where we would need him most.
Much in the way Wharton may be a better fit at G for us Elton may be better (for us) at RT. That would make him even more appealing to our staff who seem to almost demand versitility at certain positions.

Not only is OT a greater need, but the OT quality dips greatly after the top 5-6 guys. In all honesty, there isn't alot of talent at either OT or OG this year IMO, but I think you'd get more out of a 3rd round OG than a third round OT in this draft.
Plus, I think solidifying RT will help our OG play greatly, even if it is a rookie.
