????? At work it is the exact opposite but then again I'm using it as a network user and not from the network. It could also be because you have a larger bandwidth on your DSL. We have the minimum. I would rather think that it's because of Fucking BellSouth. LOL

  9. I beleive the fastest downloads come from satellite services such as directtv dsl...however, upstream is over your phone line. If you like to mail photo images you may not like this option....I have RR at home, it has been down a couple of times but other than that it is as fast as I expected it to be, both up and down stream.

What I don't like about RR is that you can be vulnerable to hackers because you are always connected. A guy I work with didn't have a firewall up and got hacked. They got his credit card information and bought a bunch of shit, Even if you have a firewall, it doesn't gaurantee protection. Just like virus software, you have to keep it up to date. Most people keep their PC's turned on when not using them with RR, I turn mine off. Even if I do get hacked, they can't do anything when my machine is off.

At work I have a T3 but the line is saturated so it is much slower than RR.

Actually Direct TV DSL is a phone line DSL service doesn't involve your dish at all... its just another one of their divisions... there is however a Satellite band of internet access you can get, and you can get up to 3 megabits download with it.. the biggest problem is they regulate it and only allow you a max. of 750Kbps... not sure why.... but I was told this by a guy that sells it... furtherore he told me that when using it on cloudy days your connection suffers.
