That's exactly what I was thinking. He went through the same thing during his career.

    Quick thought.

How does this get treated under the NFL drug abuse program?

Attemted suicide with prescription medication is not signs of a drug problem. A problem, yes. But it is generally frowned upon to try and punish suicide attempts, for obvious reasons.

The spin control by TO's people seems to be that he did not take the entire bottle, that he had an adverse reaction mixed with some vitamens and that he was "unresponsive" or incoherent to questioning.

Which isn't really that unbelieveable. According to Cowboy's physician, he did have an allergic reaction earlier in the week of some sort that had to be treated. That would support the notion of a severe reaction. I know from my own experience that reactions will get worse with the second time you take them. I'm very allergic to Codiene. And if you are having a severe reaction, you'd probably be incoherent or at least not fully aware of what is happening.

Also, as someone already pointed out, if it was a suicide attemt, he'd likely still be in the hospital. That's a fairly standard operating procedure.

Here is a link to the official police report as obtained by the Dallas news paper that broke this fiasco.

It looks real enough, but I have no idea what the abbreviations mean.
