    Looks like you were correct. Computer worked well for two days and now Windows will not boot up. Using work computer now. Can't do a damn thing at home. Keep getting a black screen asking me to do safe mode or start as normal but each time it just keeps looping back to that screen no matter what I do. What the fuck is wrong?

    Because system restore can also restore old viruses and spyware. Furthermore it also take a chunk of hardrive space.

    Wonder what VA49er did wrong?

    Anyhow, re:

    Yesterday in my daily computer tip from Kim Komando, she recommends running anti-virus and anti-spyware in safe mode then erasing the restore dates[rather than turning it off] in System Restore, then rebooting. Probably the same difference 'cause you could always turn it back on, if you have plenty of storage space(is that the same as hardrive space?)...I reckon.

    I'd love to know what decent anti-virus and/or anti-spyware actually runs in safe mode.

    I can't say for sure. I ran avast!, in-depth Ad-aware and Spybot(took over an hour to run these). I was having problems with fuzzy images and I can say that everything on my screen is very sharp now. {I hadn't realized how bad it'd gotten until after it cleared up.}

    BTW, she recommends that after you erase the restore dates and reboot to go back and enable the restore dates feature(I reckon it doesn't hurt to have the option.).

    Ah, back up and running. No real viruses found just a system crash.
