I am ready to cut away from traditional television services (TWC, ATT Uverse, dish etc..) and look seriously into Roku, Netflix and Hulu for entertainment. I have 3 smart TVs and currently have Netflix. I have heard but not looked deep into Hulu and Roku but it looks like they have come a long way. We typically watch television shows on DVR so Roku looks doable. Does anyone use these services in place of traditional cable/Dish services? What are the drawbacks. My wife loves traditional network shows and HGTV. Give me ESPN and network shows and I'm fine. I'd also like to have HBO if possible. HBO has a HBO Now but don't you have to subscribe to HBO or can you get it as a stand alone?

I have been thinking about this as well. I believe Netflix and Hulu should pretty much cover most needs, but I'm at a loss for how to access sports.
Maybe some type of antennae for local channels (Panther games ?)
I's piss myself with joy if I could cut TWC.

Well streaming TV is an excellent way to watch HD TV shows, and it also offers to record any shows through using smart TV of your favorite shows. So it's a good move man.

Netflix only can cover everything as nowadays almost all good shows and movies belong to netflix.

I’ve jumped around quite a bit and tried all the services except Direct TV now. The best service IMO is Hulu with Live TV. Their on demand is ridiculous. Like every damn thing TV wise is out there.
