    In order of progression:
    1) 3 and 5 step drops (3WR, TE)
    2) Draw off the pass
    3) Run between the tackles
    4) Playaction off the run deep to Smitty
    5) Victory formation

Definitely pass. Pass short. Pass deep. Screens.

Defensively, just tackle. Don't need to spy their RB (awkward suggestion). Don't need to blitz a ton. Just tackle Barber. Keep him in front.

    It's just football.

The strength of that D is their pass rush. You can not just abandon the run against them cause that will let them tee off on Jake.

Agreed Thelt, but one of their weaknesses is their secondary. The pass rush is always a concern, but nothing will come close to what we saw against Chicago. Nothing.

Not suggesting a 30-40 attempt game. Just take some chances deep, per usual. Screen passes would not suck.

    Sometimes here, sometimes there
Since this is a strategery thread, and I had a comment, I'll post it here.

I read that the play that Foster had the long TD run on, where he cut back, was a new play they added for this game.

I mentioned last week in a thread that I wished we would try some running plays with the blocking done like Denver and that Foster would flourish in that scheme.

Upon further review of that play, it was a denver like play with slanting O and providing a cutback lane with a seal block on the LDE. The overagressive D went to their right, cut back to the O right off tackle inside of the sealed end, TD for 70.

It was a nice play. Different than what we usually run.

I liked it, with great results.

We need more of em. Wnat to see that against NY.

My worry is that next Sunday Henning will forget what works.

But when we run them they generally do. Anyone else think that Atlanta game might have changed a bunch had that DB not dropped that interception Jake threw with the score 7-3. It would have gone for 7 and Foster hit his big TD run on the next play.

Jake has got to play it safe with the ball against the Giants. We need to be able to run or we will lose.

30 would be about right, unless we were up by a lot or down by a lot.

Different from Chicago, in that they don't get pressure up the middle. 26 of their 41 sacks came from their two ends, 7.5 from their DTs (best of which, Joseph, isn't going to play AFAIK). Their expected starting LBs have 1 total for the season.

Seriously, behind their DE starters, 3rd place on the sack list for them is their SS. If you contain the DEs, you have no pass rush.

We had qute a few plays that were misdirection/counter type. I don't remember seeing us do much of that in the past. I liked it, and now that we've shown it they have to respect that we might do it again.

As I said, I'm worried that they send everyone and we can't pick it up. A LB doesn't have to be great if he comes totally free.

We need Jake & Smitty to be on. Both the Giants and the Seahawks (assuming we play them) are both susceptible to the pass. Giants aren't that good and the 'Hawks have injury problems.

And getting a 100 from Foster would be nice too.

You contain the DEs with 3 step drops. With their weak linebacking corps you got to believe we'll get plenty of YAC. Their weak secondary probably means zone coverage rolled to Smitty's side. Proehl and Carter step up and we're solid. Play it like we are a WCO and we're solid. Scoring shouldn't be a problem. Stopping them from scoring might be if we play the run like the Dallas game. What is our defensive strategy? Man up tight and fill the box or worry about their receivers?
