Steve Smith's out 8-10 weeks

I've seen several people (not necessarily here) say he "needs to sit", "doesn't really need the practice", "can be ready to go when needed", etc..

If he had the same problem last year, in mini-camp this year, and now on the 1st day of TC, then I'm seeing just the opposite.

Remember he forfited $100,000 by choosing to opt out of the off-season conditioning program.

Maybe what he needs, and what he thinks he needs to do are two different things.

Maybe the Superman we all think he is isn't so super as far as football ready is concerned.

 

I laffed..........Just wondering, what did you find personally upsetting about this thread?

I thought this was some of the behavior that you were talking about in a prior thread. This is not intended as an attack, but if the Mods/admins of this board want to get to the standard that you described in the "Who's this loser" thread, then they are going to have to keep this sort of thing off of the Football discussion board. It belongs in a rumor/smack/joke forum. Those who come for serious discussion are understandably POed. I put the goof who started this thread on ignore, my first on this board.

#1) The less the mods/admins do, the better. I appealed to the masses to discuss football and appreciate thoughtful opinions.

#2) If there were 5-6 "Smith's career is over!" threads then maybe you would have a point. If I wanted a place for formal football discussion with no sense of humor, I wouldn't post here. It's not as if you have to choose between being 100% frivolous and 100% serious. There is a happy middle-ground to be had.

#3) It's not as if anyone was really going to be fooled. It was just a momentary scare like someone sneaking up behind you at night and screaming.

 

I agree. If this board is for serious football talk, and if you want it to be taken seriously, then this type of thing should not be allowed. Otherwise, let all stupid threads and thread titles abound and this should not be a place for serious football people to post and read.

Shame on the original poster for the poor (and unappreciated) attempt at humor. I suggest a 30-day banning from this board to set an example.
