    ESPN reports that Steve Smith is more important to the Panthers than Peyton Manning is to the Colts.

    I figure ESPN is now reading this board.......

    Actually, Jake said it yesterday. A clip from a Darin Gantt article:

    "In my opinion it's like taking Michael Vick away from Atlanta or Peyton Manning away from the Colts," Delhomme said of the Panthers in Smith's absence. "He's a good player because other teams have to account for him on every play. I'm glad he's on our side."

    Ditka, Irvin and the rest of the ESPN announcers are all over Smith too.

    Irvin called him MVP.

    Jaws is a dummy....but other than him....everyone agrees that with smith and the additional 101 yards per game the Panthers win.
