McNair married Mechelle on June 21, 1997, and had four sons: Steve Junior, Steven, Tyler, and Trenton.[11] Steve Jr. is a wide receiver at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the school at which Brett Favre regularly works out during the off-season. Steve Jr. is scheduled to graduate in 2010 and has received offers from Mississippi State, Southern Miss, West Virginia, and Tulsa.[12] Prior to his death, McNair opened a restaurant named Gridiron9 in Nashville on June 19, 2009.[13]

Death

On July 4, 2009, McNair was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds,[14] along with a female victim whom police did not immediately identify, although they did confirm she was not McNair's wife.[15] The condominium was one which McNair frequented, in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

I'm not saying McNair was cheating on his wife but what's he doing with another woman in a condo he owned?

 

First thing my wife said too.

When I saw the thread title earlier - without looking in the thread - I thought "McNair is going to try and comeback? WTF?" Then I caught the news on the radio a little later.

 

Local news is reporting it was the condo of his 20 year old girlfriend.

 

Calling it a murder/suicide.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair(notes) was shot multiple times, including once in the head, and a pistol was discovered near the body of the 20-year-old woman found dead with him Saturday in a downtown condominium.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron identified the woman as Sahel Kazemi, whom he called a “friend” of McNair’s. She had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police said the 36-year-old McNair was found on the sofa in the living room, and Kazemi was very close to him on the floor. Aaron said the gun was not “readily apparent” when police first arrived.

Autopsies were planned for Sunday.

Aaron said McNair’s wife, Mechelle, is “very distraught.”

“At this juncture, we do not believe she is involved,” he said. “Nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no.”

The bodies were discovered Saturday afternoon by McNair’s longtime friend Wayne Neeley, who said he rents the condo with McNair.

Sounds like a murder suicide. She freaked out over something, killed him and then offed herself

This story is far from over I think. For some reason I just don't see murder-suicide.
