I am not surprised by this...I think it was ambitious of Davis (the Panthers never felt he would come back, only hoped), to think he could come off micro-fracture surgery inside of a year.

Here's hopin he gets the wheels going at 100%

Anyone know how he got hurt in the first place? First it was just soreness then it was scoped and it just kept getting worse. That sounds like he is just wore down from years of punishment. It is hard to do anything about that. You can have an ACL replaced and heal a broken bone but if you are just worn down you are done.

He'll come back when he's needed the most, during the season. He will be completely healed then. He will give the team some fresh legs. Foster and Shelton can carry the load the first and then Davis can come in when needed. Last of camp or 4 weeks into season, whichever is needed.

He's ready to go now if needed. The doctors have been instructed to go slow with him. This is strategy in IMHO more than anything.

    What cathead said
If he's put on PUP and misses six games, then it just gives us a chance to check out some receivers and give Shelton some time. If he's not right by then, he probably never will be.
