Delhomme was on the nench for like 5 years. Warner was playuing in Arenas, Europe, and in St Louis.

Jake's still young. He's had no major injuries, and he's still got upside. He showed more ability to protect the ball, and imcrease production. That said, he's gotta bring up his completion percentage, which won't be easy in this low percentage offense.

The only issue is whether Jake continually re-proves his monetary value when his $7 mil contract starts to kick in harder, and whether or not he'll keep being cap-friendly in that regard. That shouldn't happen for a couple years.

I just think it's odd that when we draft literally any QB it seems, people clamor to immediately call him the Next Great Thing, some who might never have actually seen him play yet. Nothing necessarily "wrong" with that, other than the fact that if any of you learned anything from 2001's failed QBs, a quarterback should do something before he's crowned.

that said, yeah, a Bledsoe's taken tons of hits. Warner's taken some hits, but his is almost totally injury. A David Carr has taken probably 200 sacks by now, none with concussions that I know of, but I'm sure he does have more wear than a two year starter in Delhomme that's taken 50 sacks total.

In some aspects yes, I think fans WANT him to succeed, but when it comes doewn to it he's shown pretty damn good performance in college, and unlike Fasani can throw a straight pass. Furthermore he seems to be a QB that doesn't lose his head in a game situation. One of Fasani's biggest weaknesses.

as well as those assuming Lefors will be as accurate and poised in the pros as he was in college

Without seeing him how do you know they're wrong? You can't judge him to be poor and more than you say its wrong for anyone else to say he'll be great.

I'm not saying he can't. I'm saying you are assuming he's this and that and how he's obviosly better than Fasani. I've watched him. To me he's the flavor of the month and untill he proves thse things he's not obviously better than anyone.

yeah. He has something to prove to make this team, though probably not a ton - it's the inferences that we don't need a vet backup this year, and this talk of how LeFors will magically overtake Jake that's got me puzzled.

You can all but guarantee that a mobile, accurate backup will look good in preseason. Hell, Dameyune Craig looked good in preseason. That doesn't mean that a player's going to be great - I hope he's good, of course, but damn. The line is backing up on this guy's jock and he's been a Panther literally a day.
