5 million attempts may break some kind of single game attempt record, that would be cool.

First down yardage will be very important - as usual.

Very true about generalizations, but you can say it about specific games if you're familiar with the context. Like, say ... the Chicago game earlier this year. :supergrin

except that we couldn't run and got a fair amount of the yards we did because we drew

Foster only had 9 carries (for 41 yards), the longest of which was only 12 yards. To say that we "couldn't run" is blatantly incorrect. We chose not to run once we got down by 10, and that decision led both to the sacks and our offensive ineffectiveness.

Yeah. I checked those stats and thought the same thing. We also were still using Davis.

I think that ypc for Foster might be out of context, though, as I think he got alot of those yards on 3rd and 20 draws....Imma check the play by play b/c I'd rather do that than work.

    3-16-CAR24(12:00) D.Foster right guard to CAR 33 for 9 yards (L.Briggs, B.Urlacher).

    3-21-CAR33(12:20) D.Foster right guard to CAR 45 for 12 yards (T.Harris).

He had 41 yards and there's 21 of them

"we couldn't run" isn't blatantly incorrect. It's mildly debateable, if you want to get awfully nitpicky, but to give you my actual point, we couldn't run out of base offense against the heart of the #1 defense in the league, which you know as well as I do.
