Spurrier's Reason(s) to come to DC

There's been a truckload of ink spilled here in DC over the new "Ball Coach." These stories often include speculation as to WHY Spurrier left Florida at this time for the Redskins. Theories ranging from "Mike Martz envy" to his looking for some of "Danny's retirement plan $$$" have been thrown around...but I have another idea....

I am not an SEC fan, so please know that I do not sit around looking for ways to crap on Florida every year. BUT - has anyone taken a look at the Florida schedule this year? I have absolutely, positively, NO clue what Florida has coming back, but as I look at the schedule I see the real possibility of an 8-3 season (or worse) on the horizon. When was the last time Florida had an 8 win season?

Some talking head may have written about this already (someone please clue me in if this is the case), but does anyone else think that maybe ol' Steve was thinking - "Hey, I ain't gonna be around here and listen to Gator fans bitch about a "bad" season."??

I dont know, the redskins have been having a lot of bad seasons theselves. They can have another one. It wouldn't surprise me.

Spurrier has attained the status of Gator God, all he has to do is beat FSU and Ga and Tenn and everyone is happy. A bad year is expected now and then. Since UF chickened out of the miami series gator coaches have had a much easier life.
