Some douchebag on ESPN recently called that the greatest play in NFL history. I threw up all over my coffee table.

My favorite in NFL history was "the catch". Montana to Dwight Clark. Pre- Panthers, that is.

Favorite Panthers was Jake to Steve Smith in St Louis for the winning TD in OT in the playoff game.

Yeah, plays like those are truly momentous. The Tyree catch was critical to the game and was certainly impressive both because of the helmet thing and Eli somehow escaping the rush, but it was only a 32 yard gain.

I think if the Tyree catch had happened on fourth down it would be more spectacular but it stands now its a great super bowl play but not greatest in any list.

The Marv call is better than the Joe Buck call. Joe sounds like he's ordering a decaf latte from Starbucks.

We like in a 15 minute world. The Tyree catch just kept them in the game, it didn't win it, like The Catch. Nor was it as improbable as the Immaculate Reception or the Staubach Hail Mary.

I might buy that it was the most dramatic play in Super Bowl history. Norwood's kick you could make a case for, but that was a long and difficult kick that just went wide left. Montana's touchdown pass to Taylor wasn't as dramatic cause you got the sense watching the final drive that the TD was inevitable.

What else. Elway's dive? Riggins run? Both happened with lots of time left. Swan's SB XI catches?

When you factor in the fact that it was a very difficult play on both ends and the fact that the Giants were huge under dogs against a modern dynasty that was the first team to ever go undefeated in a 16 game regular season it makes that play pretty important. I would not call it the greatest play of all time or anything, I reserve that for plays involving Leon Lett, but still it was pretty awesome.

I'd say that because Manning, the underdog, was under such serious pressure and a heads-up great pass with great coverage by an undefeated team, along with a fantastic catch- considering the timing of it and that it lead to the score, yeah, I'd say it's up there with most of the greats, imo.

You could add Jackie Smith dropping a sure TD and probable win for the Cowgirls as one of the most dramatic too. Or the Marcus Allen run.
