Guys, I'm not a troll. I just wanted to let the hardcore fans know that the petition is going around. These signatures are ultimately going to go to the commish and the owners with this letter to prove how strong fan outcry is.

This is a chance to have a say in the negotiations and effect what's going to happen next year. I'd encourage all fans to do whatever they can to make sure we have an NFL season next year.

Well, The Brain, as I noted earlier, these signatures are going to go with a letter to the owners and Goodell. It definitely will be seen by difference makers in the league offices. As a fan, this is a chance to have your collective voice heard.

There is also a really interesting article on on the financial implications of the lockout. This just proves that more than players and fans, there is something to lose if the lockout happens. I hope this is even more of a reason for you all to speak out against the possibility of a lockout.

Playa, in all seriousness, you know that this petition is going to be seen by the people with the power to effect a change in the league offices. This differentiates it from other organic petitions, because it's also set up by the NFLPA. You know that both sides are listening here.

I'm kinda hoping for a lockout. After 15 years of plunking down money for tickets, spending half my fall Sundays driving to/from Charlotte, I wouldn't mind a break. There'd still be plenty college ball to watch.

So we would be signing a petition set up by the NFLPA to make the owners look bad?
